If you were in the Beau Rivage this morning, you may have heard rounds of applause and hoorays from the One Coast Awards as they honored community leaders.

The 2024 One Coast annual awards ceremony recognized 20 men and women who are up and coming business leaders and those making an impact in the community along the Coast. Kaila Moran Griffith with Mississippi Power said, “I’m humbled and honored to be recognized today, not just for the honor itself, but to be standing alongside so many other awesome peers and colleagues and community leaders. I think this entire awards program you know; one coast is really such a testament to the talent that we have here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and to the mentorship.”

The awards ceremony hosted by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce was held in the Magnolia Ballroom of the Beau Rivage.

The chamber says this awards ceremony carries on the tradition of a united Coast started by the Sun Herald, bringing leaders from Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson counties. Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce CEO Adele Lyons said, “We all come together as a chamber from State line to state line to really recognize who are the leaders here on the Gulf Coast that make things happen, that have an impact, that are the doers, that are the people that always say yes, and, you know, really produce results.”

Community Leader Award Recipient Jimmie Ladner said, “Everybody can make a difference you know, it’s easier for some folks to be on the boards and to do things like that. But everybody can make a difference, if we all just get up every day and set our sights on making a small difference in our community, that small difference that everybody makes a huge difference across the Coast.”
